What is Compounded Semaglutide?
Compounded semaglutide uses the same active ingredient (semaglutide) found in the FDA-approved brand-name products Wegovy® and Ozempic®. It is prepared individually for each patient by a state-licensed compounding pharmacy under section 503A of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.
Important: Compounded medications are not FDA-approved as final products. The active pharmaceutical ingredient is FDA-registered. Compounded preparations are not interchangeable with FDA-approved branded medications and are dispensed only with a valid prescription from a licensed physician.
